The mixing head is positively connected and aligned to the motor by a flanged tube, and so cannot move out of alignment as do the mixing heads of mixers that are connected to their motors by tie rods.

The mixing stator has a lower plate that partly encloses the rotor. This allows product to be drawn up into the rotor from below but prevents it from being able to recirculate down the side of the stator, and thus avoid processing.

The components of the mixing head are precision machined from stainless steel so that there is very little clearance between the rotor and stator. It is the very small clearances between the rotor and stator that ensure rapid and fine grinding.

Wear between the rotor and stator is reduced by the main shaft running in a double row ball bearing that is protected by seals that are resistant to most coatings solvents. The bearing and seals will last for several thousand hours but the actual time will depend in the product being processed.

The bearing and seals are simple to replace and the job can be completed in less than an hour, provided that the machine is clean.

Spare mixing heads are available so that a worn machine can be quickly brought back to top condition.

In use the mixer will create a powerful swirling action that will keep the sides of the tank clean and so minimise or eliminate scraping of the sides of the mixing tank.

The absence of tie rods make the mixer very easy to clean.
