CONSEAL M
Conseal M is a specially formulated two part epoxy system that is available with aggregate packs to product either fine or coarse epoxy mortar. It produces an easy to spread mortar that is extremely strong and hard wearing. An additive is also available to allow formation of coving between floors and walls.
Conseal M with fine aggregate is soft and easy to spread and has a fine closed texture. Conseal M with coarse aggregate is stiffer and produces a rougher surface. Both products are impermeable.
Typical Uses: For application to concrete floors where most durable resin floor is required. It can be used on ramps and is excellent for repairing worn or damaged concrete steps and floors or for filling holes before the application of self levelling screed.
For applications to slopes, or vertical use please see Conseal MV.

Type: Solvent free epoxy mortar
Mix Ratio: See label on tin
Hardener: Synamin 220
Finish: Matt
Solvent: Synsol 300 for cleaning tools
Colours: Grey resin, finish is sand coloured
Pack Sizes: 5kg, 25kg and 50kg
Shelf life and Storage: 12-18 months in original, unopened container. Store in cool and dry conditions
Preparation: Must be applied to solid substrates that have been suitably prepared and primed. Poor preparation of the substrate will prevent good results and cause premature failure.
All old coatings and contamination such as oil and grease must be removed. A scabbler is quick and easy to use but heavy encrustations of grease should be removed first. Old concrete must be checked for mechanical strength and any necessary repairs made. New concrete that has a layer of friable dusty material on its surface that has been caused by premature dry out, must have the friable material removed by blasting or by diamond cutting.
Metallic surfaces should be cleaned by suitable mechanical preparation. Steel surfaces are best freed from rust and mill scale by shot blasting. where blasting impossible, thorough manual de-rusting is the least that must be done.
any obstructions such as manholes must be adjusted in height to correspond to the level of the new screed and suitable edge stops must be installed in doorways and where the screed is to be stopped.
Mixing: Must be mixed in a powered mixer. A mixer with a removable tub is ideal for small jobs, but a larger machine such as an IMER mixer which can mix 100kgs at a time and has bottom discharge is better for large jobs.
Pour the resin and hardener into the mixer and allow it to be mixed thoroughly before adding the aggregate. Continue mixing until a homogeneous mix with an even texture is obtained.
Application: The temperature of the material and substrate must be at least 10°c. Application at lower temperatures is possible but will be more difficult due to the higher viscosity of the resin binder. the mixed mortar can be quickly spread on large, flat surfaces with a screeding sledge. a screeding bar used between guides can be used on irregular surfaces or while small areas can be levelled with a trowel.
